I heard a great quote recently, ‘Your problem isn’t that you don’t have enough time, it’s how you use the time you have that makes all the difference.’ This has lived with me because I always find myself short of time(!) and recently I have found myself thinking about how life flies by (it will be Christmas before we know it!)

But of course life is short, very short. The Bible puts it like this: ‘What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.’ James 4:14. That doesn’t mean that you are insignificant, but rather that because this life is fleeting we ought to use it wisely and throw all of our life’s energies into knowing God and pursuing his kingdom – that is a wise use of time.

So as we head into this new term can I call each one of us to be so intentional and radical in our daily decisions as we follow Jesus as Lord. Let’s seek to be a blessing to one another as we gather. Let’s seek to be a blessing to Swindon through the way in which we live and interact with those around us, and let’s be radical with the sin that would try to entangle us.

As General Maximus Decimus said, ‘What we do in life echoes in eternity.’ Let’s make the most of every opportunity!
